Cressroads traders give nod to chic Amanda’s spooky eco-network
Re. TWITTERING ECO-CHICK cont. from 28/03/09
Blogsbody knows better than to ignore the small print.
Ever more so when Cressroads’ Mother Eco-Chick drops her typeface to squeeze a final few lines into her puzzling 20-page menu for a ‘lovely evening full of watercress, local trout and hope that her dearest guests have a really super time’.
Meet again, Amanda-the-Networker.
Mother of Immi and daughter-in-law of Celia Miller, a barrister whose Newmarket stud bred Diamond White and Keen Winner, respective winners of the Prix de l’Opera on Arc Day 1999 at Longchamp and 2002 Hong Kong Derby.
When only in spirit (and Amanda’s ‘menu’ makes reference to Sunday ‘nights’ Spiritualist meetings at Chawton Village Hall as a ‘local resource’) could the Cambridge legal eagle care for Immi, while her daughter-in-law went on a rugged outdoor sleepover in poetic Tichborne the night of her inaugural networking bash at Lady Cyn & Son’s Bull & Bell.
For as their Winchester barmaid replies to want to set the record straight for Blogsbody’s tales of the unexpected in the Continuing Story of Cressroads: ‘Her granny died.’
Fifteen months ago.
And for Amanda to relate how the late Mrs Miller ’supported my holistic, earthy lifestyle when my unborn baby was diagnosed with a life-threatening hernia … in my pregnancy I turned to crystals, nutritionists, meditation, white light therapy and visualization … Immi is here gorgeous, fit and healthy … my duty is to make planet and people healthier.”
Made possible, believes Amanda, by Cressroadians wanting to join her network to become ‘eco-chic’ in respect of ’style … finding out the latest on what’s healthy… making friends, making money, making a real difference … connecting with the right people … experts on herbal health and eco-beauty … using traditional and progressive remedies from homeopathy to amino acids and such super foods as watercress.’
“Echo,” chorus Bull & Bell, Butchers Sole, Caracoli, Lavenders and Poet Ottley, bold-faced leaders of a 27-strong hit list of Cressroads’ friends in further support of Amanda’s business network as well as named charities: Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Molly Bedingfield’s Global Angels.
